Getting noticed in the world of content marketing is a challenging task. A compelling company story requires a lot of effort and skill. You must balance an overt sales pitch with an engaging story when selling your company’s solution to a problem. Educating consumers about your company and its solutions, as well as telling authentic stories, can help you provide value to consumers without going overboard in trying to sell your audience on your products and services.

The question is, what do you do to create content that resonates with your audience?

Tips for Creating Content to Resonate with Your Audience

Tips for Creating Content to Resonate with Your AudienceOne piece of content you can create that will help strengthen your brand’s authority and resonate with your audience is your company blog, which is often the focal point of your content marketing strategy. Below are the tips that I apply not only here at Marketing Leap but also with my clients to help their stories stand out.

1. Know Your Target Audience

The number of businesses that fail to deeply understand who their ideal customer is and how they operate would surprise you. While there are some products and services that are universal and can serve everyone, the best messaging addresses the specific issues wants, and needs of one individual. Creating generic content for nameless, faceless users won’t work.

In this age of limited attention spans and so much online, you have to create detailed buyer personas that perfectly outline who your ideal target client is. Research and insights gathered from actual customers are the basis for creating these, whether from a survey, interview, or data analysis. The usual data you need might include:

  • Age
  • Career
  • Geographic Location
  • Background & experiences
  • What drives or motivates them
  • Inversely, what holds them back
  • Pain points and problems they have that you can solve

It helps you gain a better understanding of what pitch works and what doesn’t since content that works with one prospect might not suit someone else. Knowing the potential client’s background and demographics provides you with valuable insight.

2. Humanise Your Content

Humanise Your ContentAs soon as you have an accurate picture of your target market, you can start to write content that creates an emotional connection by writing stories they want to read. Focus on branding instead of sales when creating content. If you want to create content that touches the reader, you can use humour or demonstrate that you understand their problem and will help them fix it.

Here are some steps you can take to create this emotional bond:

  • Choose an emotion to accompany your idea or message.
  • Describe how the product assisted the customer in overcoming a serious obstacle.
  • Tell your story with enough emotion to make it memorable.
  • Use style and formatting to make a lasting impression.

Make your audiences feel connected by telling your story and by incorporating a human element. You can also read this  blogMarketing Storytelling: How to Craft Stories That Sell And Build Your Brand” to help you in crafting your stories.

3. Educate & Inform

The purpose of creating content specifically to educate is to achieve the same goals as creating content to entertain but is often used as a next step to show readers and potential users why your content is valuable. In contrast to entertaining content, educational content appeals to a reader’s rationality.

As an example, you might want to read about banana bread. Following the recipe, you end up with a great result. Therefore, you are more likely to make use of the brand again when looking for other recipes. Education is not only found in recipes but also:

  • How-to videos or articles
  • Guides or Tutorials
  • Reviews
  • Product Demos
  • eBooks

Once your reader has found value in your content, this allows them to share your content with others, which in turn helps your brand to reach more audiences.

4. Create Visuals

While the importance of words cannot be overstated, it’s also important to make sure your content is visually appealing. Help your content resonate with your target audience through visual content, such as videos, pictures, screenshots, GIFs, slideshows, and infographics. The top page of Google is 50 times more likely to display visual content, which also generates 94% more views.

These days, readers have short attention spans. That is also one reason why TikTok videos are on the rise as it’s short form videos. Make your content stand out by adding visuals. Creating graphics and incorporating them into your blog and social media posts can help you do this. To put it simply, visuals can improve your business’ results.

If you are still not convinced how visuals can help your content stand out. Here are a few reasons:

  • Engagement with social media increases.
  • You can easily understand it.
  • It is attention-grabbing.
  • Increases the views of your posts.
  • It provides more information and communicates more effectively.

5.  Be Authentic

The Internet contains a huge amount of information, however, it is often more like a desert when it comes to authenticity. Authentic content that highlights your brand story is the key to success. Make sure your content is more than a placeholder.

Make your content stand out from the crowd by leveraging your unique insights, strengths, and experiences. Use the unique perspective you have on the world to your advantage. To create authentic content, you can try the following:

  • Make sure you understand your target audience.
  • Engage your audience in conversation.
  • Identify your brand’s voice and don’t be afraid to use it.
  • Don’t be afraid of sharing your experiences and trust your authority.

Being authentic and genuine is one of the best ways to create content. The right audience will resonate with your content when you tell your story like the real you.

Conclusion

By producing informative, easily readable, visually appealing, and valuable content, you can target your ideal audience directly. These are the things you need to check off to produce successful content that resonates with your target audience. This in turn will give your content the attention it deserves and will resonate with your audience.
