TL;DR - Click here to Watch the Videos Below

Are you having problems getting your business page in front of your social media audiences? Here are three simple, easy social media growth hacks to boost your online presence for your business.

If you’re just starting in the social media game, it can be really challenging. A lot of the time, you’re learning new tech on top of new ways of doing things. Showing up online and showing your authority often hard in the beginning, especially if you don’t have any social proof. Social proof is pretty much what other people say about you and your business and how good you are. Potential clients often rely on what other people say about you and your business to determine how good you are. Its not always fair, but it is definitely true.

One of the simplest and easiest ways of doing social media marketing for business is through a series of different organic processes.

Hack #1: Follow an Optimised Social Sharing Schedule

boosting your online presence with scheduling

Following a social media sharing schedule will keep you consistent.  Like all things consistency is key to boosting your online presence. It allows you to keep showing up in front of your ideal clients regularly and as often as possible because your ideal clients need to see and hear you 22 times before they start recognising who you are. Showing up daily on your social media pages, sharing your tips, your services, your products and telling your ideal client how you serve them and how you make their lives easier is one of the first ways of being consistent.

You can create your own content bank, create a content calendar, and schedule posts. There are a few different platforms out there that you can use when it comes to setting yourself up, depending on what size you are and whether you’re using VAs or you’ve got a team behind you.

Some of the core ones for small to medium businesses that we do recommend are:

For my agency, we use eClincher purely because their reporting is absolutely phenomenal. When you are looking at a scheduling platform, one of the things that you need to look at is whether you can reply and engage with comments on your posts through that particular platform. The next thing is making sure have set up post scheduling. Finally, organise your reporting because if you’re not measuring your action, you don’t know what’s working and not.

Hack #2: Engagement For Your Online Presence

Growing your online presence is all about engagement

When it comes to showing up online, it’s not a case of just showing up, dumping content, and leaving. Growing your online presence is all about engagement. It’s all about being social.

Aside from having your regular posts, you need to make sure that your content is interactive. Make sure that you’re utilising your Instagram Stories and Facebook Stories. Even LinkedIn has moved into Stories on the platform. Stories are ephemeral content i.e. a post that stays up for 24 hours. You can select your settings so it stays in your archive and you can repost. Using interactive content is a great way of getting an engagement happening. Going live is a great way of increasing engagement because you watch and respond to people commenting and interact with your audience as you do this.

Engagement is all about having a conversation because we all want to connect with one another. At the end of the day, the whole idea of you showing up on social media, for 99% of businesses, is so that you can get in front of your ideal client and can show them exactly how it is that you can make their life easier. Having that engagement is so important. If you’ve got people that you can collaborate with and work with, comment and mention them when it comes to showing up online so that people know that you’re not alone. It builds your authority because you’re being seen as somebody who is easy to collaborate with, easy to work with and people aren’t as shy to connect with you.

When it comes to Instagram, follow the hashtags and accounts that are using hashtags very similar to yours and connect with them. Start having conversations because you never know where the next collaboration is going to lead, especially when it comes to social media and showing up online.

Hack #3: Partner with Influencers

boosting your online presence with collaborationPartnering with influencers, is more than collaborating with people that have got 100,000 followers. Look into working with micro-influencers with the same target audience as you that have 3,000 to 5,000 followers. Also the number is not the big thing, check their followers to see how many accounts are real because believe it or not, there are some businesses who still seem to think it’s okay to buy followers and likes. However, they lose out in the long run because social media and growing your business online is about engagement and communication.

If you are thinking of collaborating with someone, especially on Instagram, check out their account and watch the number of comments on each post. When they post, is it crickets or do they have people engaging regularly and talking and asking questions? That is the fastest way to see how legitimate and engaged their following is and in turn what kind of a response you can expect collaborating with them.

Finding someone who’s in the same niche or has a parallel industry to yours is a great way to go because it can, if done correctly double your audience. It adds to your influence because you’re also being promoted on their channels. We do something very similar in the group that I run in Digital Success with Style. We have the Digital Success Hot Seat, which is a great way for business owners to get into the group, tell a little bit about their story, and talk to other business owners about their journey. It puts them in front of a lot of fairly well-known, almost influencers when it comes to the online digital space.

Conclusion

In fact sometimes simply showing up and building your authority can be hard without social proof. Social proof is pretty much what other people say about you and your business and how good you are.
